Yum.Asparagus and Citrus Salad

Here comes the new season of asparagus again in NewZealand! Mix the nutritious asparagus with blueberry, grapefruit, orange and various vegetables, and you can enjoy a colorful dish to help you feel fresh and fit!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Lemon
  • 1/2 Orange
  • 1/2 Grapefruit
  • 1/4 Cup Cherry Tomato
  • 1 Tablespoon Blueberry
  • 1/4 Cup Asparagus
  • 1 Packed Mixed Lettuce
  • 1 Tablespoon Mascarpone Sauce

Recipe:

1.  Preparation work

Peel a small piece of orange peel, discard the white part, clean and slice it. Put the peeled slices in cold water (even better in ice water). Then peel the orange and grapefruit, cut them into wedges.Slice the cherry tomato and set aside.

2.  Boil the asparagus

Bring a pot of water to boil, add 1 teaspoon of salt, add asparagus. Cook for 1 minute, then take out and drain. Put the asparagus in cold water (better in ice water).

3.  Toss the salad

Take a big bowl, put in mixed lettuce, blueberries, orange,cherry tomato and grapefruit, squeeze some lemon juice on them, then add asparagus. Add all the olive oil, add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper, toss well.

4.  Plate your dish

Lay the tossed salad on a plate, add mascarpone sauce, sprinkle with orange peel julienne and serve!

5.   Enjoy

TK-Blog-Corn-Chili-Pasta-Carbonara-01Carbonara’s origin is heavily debated. Many stories are told in this simple and delicious sauce. Everyone want to say that the invention of the first, because it is so delicious, love the world as a whole. Usually, this eternal recipes need only basic ingredients, egg, bacon, pasta, butter, Swiss cheese, cheese. Collocating with refreshing sauce cucumber and sweet juice, Carbonara is another kind of flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 Cup Spaghetti
  • 1/4 Cup Lardon
  • 2 Tablespoon Cream
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/6 Cup Emmental Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley
  • 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon White Pepper Ground
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt

Recipe:

1.  Mise en place

Separate the yolk and white of the egg. Keep the yolk. Shred the emmental cheese. Chop parsley finely.

2.  Cook pasta

In boiling salted water, cook spaghetti for 9 to 11 minutes – depends on how firm you like it. Once they are cooked, keep them in water until use.

3.  Cook bacon

Sauté lardon in a hot pan. You don’t need to add fat because lardon will give out fat in the pan. Once they are colored, pour in the cream. Reduce the fire and let it boil

4.  Add cheese and egg yolk

Switch off the fire. Add the cheese, but keep some for plating. Let the cheese melt, then add the yolk. Mix well everything. Once you add the yolk, you must not boil the sauce again or the yolk will coagulate.

5.  Add pasta

Then, strain pasta and add it to the sauce. Add some nutmeg powder. Check seasoning depending on your taste. If you feel the pasta to sticky, feel free to add some water to delay the preparation.

6.  Plate your dish

Lay down pasta nicely on the plate. Spread some cheese and chopped parsley on the top. Enjoy this dish while it’s hot.

Yum.Hot Dog

Hot dog is quite symbolic in American culture, which is easy to prepare and good in taste. Homemade hot dog can be a fun alternative for meal, and it takes only a few minutes before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Iceberg Lettuce
  • 3 Frankfurt Sausage
  • 3 Hot Dog Buns
  • 2 Teaspoon Mayonnaise
  • 2 Teaspoon Ketchup
  • 2 Teaspoon Sweet Pickle with Crunchy Gherkins
  • 2 Teaspoon Mustard with Crunchy Gherkins

Recipe

1.  Preparation work

Slice the iceberg lettuce.

2.  Boil the sausages

Add water in the pan, bring to boil over high heat. Add Frankfurt sausages, and boil for 3 minutes. Take out and drain.

3.  Fry the hot dog

Wipe the pan, add half of the butter, heat over low heat, put in hot dog buns, fry both sides for 30 seconds, take out and set aside. Turn off the heat, add the other half butter, pan-fry sausages with afterheat, each side for 30 seconds. Take out and set aside.

4.  Plate your dish

Open the hot dog bun, spread mayonnaise, stuff the sliced lettuce and sausage in the bun, add your favorite sauce on the top, serve hot!

5.  Enjoy

Cooking

Cook probably be a little ceremony for our hard work in peacetime. So people need a little reward for striving to live. Since it is a reward, it can not be too perfunctory, if still as usual,just eating two slices of bread. It seems to live up to the holidays.
